Livingstone (Victoria Falls) – 3 nights (AVANI Victoria Falls Resort)

One of the original natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls is a World Heritage Site and an extremely popular tourism attraction. Known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ this spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe and it is an ideal place to combine game viewing and water sports. There is excellent fishing, a terrifying bungee jump and arguably the best commercial white water rafting in the world.

Day 1: Upon arrival at Livingstone International Airport, you will be greeted and handed your travel documents by one of our representative. You will then be transferred to you first accommodation near the Victoria Falls in Zambia, AVANI Victoria Falls Resort (+/- 30 minutes). Leisure time after check in. You could walk to the falls. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Day 2: Breakfast at your lodge. Today you will visit the Falls with a guide on the Zimbabwe side (activity included). Lunch and dinner are not included.

Day 3: Breakfast at your lodge. Today you could opt for a different kind of activities – Your lodge offers a variety ofexcursions at extra cost (not included): River safaris, Helicopter above the falls, Canoeing and fishing on Zambezi River. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Chobe River Front – 3 nights (Pangolin Chobe Lodge)

The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities. This section of the park is best known for its dense concentration of wildlife including elephant and hippo populations, but the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them. A visit to this area guarantees close encounters with an array of African wildlife. Visitors can look forward to some exciting activities such as: driving along the game-dotted river banks in a 4WD; cruising along the river in a motorboat, spotting rare birdlife and for a unique, luxury safari experience, hire a houseboat.

Day 4: Breakfast at your lodge. Today you will be transferred towards Botswana’s Chobe National Park to your next accommodation Pangolin Chobe Lodge (+/- 02h00). Lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, you may choose form the various complementary activities offered: Game drives in open-sided 4x, Photographic safari cruise.

Okavango Delta – 3 nights (Mopiri Camp)

Situated in the northwestern corner of Botswana, the Okavango Delta is a World Heritage Site as it is the largest inland delta in the world. The magnificent Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming this flourishing waterlogged oasis featuring countless meandering waterways and crystal clear lagoons studded with water lilies, as well as fertile floodplains and reeded islands inhabited with abundant wildlife. The Okavango Delta stretches over 15000 square kilometres. Visitors can enjoy a number of wonderful activities such as game viewing, fishing, bird watching or taking an authentic guided Mokoro excursion through this wetland paradise in a traditional dugout canoe. Commonly spotted animals include: lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephants, crocodiles and countless species of bird.

Day 7: Breakfast and transfer to Kasane Airport. Breakfast on the boat. Today you will leave the Zambezi Queen to return to Botswana. A road transfer will take you to Kasane Airport, where a flight is scheduled towards the Okavango Delta.  You will stay at Camp Mopiri. Departure to your safari in Mokoro after your lunch at Camp.

Day 8: Breakfast and planning your day with your ranger. Available activities: Short mokoro trips around the surrounding islands of camp, Bush Walks, Fishing Trips (Bream, Tiger Fish, African Pike, Barbel), Day Boat Trips to the islands with a bush walk and mokoro trip. Bird walks by The Wild Bird Trust and the chance to discuss their research. Sundowners and private dinners can be enjoyed aboard the double storey barge under the African night sky.

Moremi Game Reserve – 3 nights (Nokanyana Camp)

Situated in the east of the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve ranks as one of the most beautiful reserves in Africa. It covers more than 4871 square kilometres of pristine wilderness, and the varied terrain includes savannah, winding waterways, and dense forest. This diverse ecosystem supports an incredibly wide spectrum of wildlife, ranging from large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, to the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, lion, cheetah and packs of wild dog in the open grasslands. The birdlife is prolific and includes most of the 550 bird species recorded on Botswana’s national bird list. City, Beach and Safari Itinerary

This is an itinerary for families wanting to see all aspects of South Africa and enjoy a beach time or a dive. It venutures to  areas with less tourists and is one of the most diverse itineraries : city, mountain, historical green hills, savannah, wetlands and beach.

Johannesburg – 1 night (Satyagraha House)

Johannesburg is one of Africa’s biggest and most vibrant cities. It is the economic capital of Africa and the gateway to Southern Africa. Although not as famous as other South African destinations, there is plenty to do in Johannesburg and nearby Pretoria. The old city is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra modern skyscrapers. There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest. The shopping is Southern Africa’s best and the many restaurants cater for all tastes. The nearby township of Soweto is Johannesburg’s most popular tourist attraction.

Cathedral Peak Nature Reserve – 2 nights (Didima Rest Camp)

The Cathedral Peak Nature Reserve is located in the Drakensberg Mountains in east-central South Africa, near its border with the northeastern region of Lesotho. This magnificent area is most easily accessed from the town of Winterton, and boasts some of the country’s most scenic hiking and rock climbing opportunities. The nature reserve offers a range of trails of varying length and difficulty, including exploring the cave paintings of Ndedema Gorge and a route to the summit of Cathedral Peak itself. This challenging climb rewards hikers with views of some of the Drakensberg’s most prominent peaks, such as Giant’s Castle, The Bell and Cleft Peak. There is a four-star hotel located within the reserve, while day hikers must register (and receive maps) at the Information Office.

Ballito – 1 night (Petite Provence Guest House)

Idyllically set on the exquisite North Coast of South Africa, just 40 kilometres from the vibrant city of Durban, Ballito is a quiet seaside resort town known for its spectacular beaches and laidback atmosphere. Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park – 1 night (Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge)

The Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park is the jewel in the crown of the KwaZulu-Natal game reserves. Proclaimed in 1895, it is also the oldest game reserve in Africa. Initially two separate reserves, they were joined to create a single 94 000 hectare reserve which is home to one-fifth of the world’s black and white rhino population. It was here that the internationally acclaimed Operation Rhino started in the 1960s, successfully capturing and relocating white rhino to havens within South Africa and abroad. The Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park was the first reserve to introduce walking safaris and its Wilderness Trails are internationally renowned. Gweta – 1 night (Planet Baobab)

Known as the gateway to the Makgadikgadi Pans, the tiny old Botswanan village of Gweta is a pleasant place to stay while exploring the vast salt pans. Take a guided walk or quad bike ride through Gweta’s surrounds and discover flint-head spears and other artefacts abandoned by the area’s early Stone Age inhabitants. Experience a barbeque under the star-studded African sky while sipping on traditional, organic sorghum beer or a creamy baobab milkshake. Kalahari Namibia – 1 night (Kalahari Farmhouse Gondwana Namibia Collection)

Contrary to popular belief, the Kalahari is not a desert, its annual rainfall being greater than that of a desert. It is the scarcity of surface water that makes it look like a desert, yet the Kalahari is a relatively wooded region, a thorny savannah composed mainly of acacia trees. The vegetation is easier to anchor in the fossil valleys parallel to the dunes whose soil is more clayey. The wildlife of Kalahari is rich, many antelopes, including Oryx, ostriches but also small species such as meerkats living in highly organised communities.

Sossusvlei is what is called in southern Africa a “pan”, a sort of dry lagoon inside the desert. Sossusvlei and its surroundings are one of the only accessible areas of the majestic sea of ​​sand stretching 300 km long and 150 km wide in the heart of the Namib Desert. Sossusvlei is reached by a valley lined with dunes following the bed of a dry river named Tsauchab. Arriving at Sossusvlei, visitors leave the vehicles to walk around at will and climb one of the dunes bordering the “pan”. From there, the impressive perspective of the desert is revealed in an endless succession of soft and plump sand waves, alternating the yellow, orange and ocher colors throughout the day. The landscape is fascinating, calls mystery, silence and serenity. Nobody remains insensitive to the magic of the place.

Swakopmund – 2 nights (Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Center)

Before becoming Namibia’s most popular seaside town for vacationers looking for freshness during the hot summer months of Namibia, Swakopmund was for a long time the most important port of the German South West African colony. During the First World War, Namibian territory came under the control of South Africa, which was already operating the neighbouring port of Walvis Bay. Swakopmund then became a seaside town. Today, Swakopmund offers the quaint charm of the old colonial town planted with palm trees and green gardens, contrasting with the only desert sand colors. The Atlantic and the Benguela current, coming directly from Antarctica, bathes the coast with cold water full of oysters, lobsters and fine fish.

Day 5: Breakfast in your hotel . 12:00 pm: Today you will leave for  Sandwich Harbor Tour. You will begin with a break in the lagoon to admire the flamingos, then you will go by 4×4 in the dunes to observe the local flora and fauna. Free Dinner.

Spitzkoppe – 1 night (Spitzkoppen Lodge)

The Spitzkoppe, between Usakos and Swakopmund, is also known as the “Matterhorn of Namibia”. At an altitude of 1,800 meters, the Spitzkoppe is arguably the highest mountain in Namibia, but it is its incredible cut lines that have earned it its reputation as the most famous mountain in the country. Emerging from a vast desert plain, one can see this mountainous island from far away. The difference in height between the summit and the base is 700 meters.

Next door is the “Little Spitzkoppe” which rises 1584 meters above sea level, and the mountains of Pontok. Contrary to appearances, it is not easy to reach the summit of the Spitzkoppe, which was conquered for the first time in 1946. Only trained and well-equipped mountaineers should embark on this ascent. In summer, it is impossible to climb because of the high temperature of the rock which, without a doubt, would burn your hands.

This granite massif, part of the Erongo Mountains, was born during the collapse of a granite volcano 100 million years ago. Then the erosion did its work to update the volcanic rock, the granite. It is possible to make beautiful walks between the strange rock formations, in an astonishing landscape. Botanical enthusiasts can discover a particular flora like yellow Butter Trees and Poison Trees (Euphorbia Virosa) which secrete an extremely dangerous white liquid that the Bushmen use as a poison for the tip of their arrows. We can discover a little everywhere paintings bohemian, and in particular in “The paradise of Bushmen”.

Damaraland – 1 night (Ugab Terrace Lodge)

The Damaraland is a very arid region where the savannahs in the plains and the mountain passes alternate themselves offering superb landscapes, worthy of the most beautiful scenery of westerns. The territory of Damaraland; extending from the skeleton coast to the central plateau of Namibia, owes its name to the Damara people who constitute the bulk of the population of the region. The Damaraland is very sparsely populated and its tourist attraction is mainly related to its beautiful landscapes and rock paintings that are found around the mountainous Brandberg, Twyfelfontein and Spitzkoppe. Many wild animals including elephants, rhinos, oryx and mountain zebras have acclimated to the hostile climate of the region.

Etosha West – 2 nights (Etosha Mountain Lodge)

Located in the western part of Etosha National Park, Etosha West is a new addition to this world-renowned wildlife preserve. Formerly a restricted area, today it is open to all visitors who wish to discover the isolated sections of this spectacular park. Visitors to Etosha West can explore this distant landscape of northern Namibia characterized by lush rolling terrain and reddish-brown soil. The area has many water points attracting elephants, rhinos, leopards, lions and a variety of males. Do not miss the chance to spot Hartmann’s rare mountain zebra and the black-faced impala.

Etosha National Park – 1 night (Halali Resort)

Etosha, which means “immense white expanse”, is one of the largest and most famous reserves of all Africa. During part of the year, a vast expanse of surface water, once a lake the size of the Netherlands, sparkles with a brilliant white light due to the crystallization of salt on its surface. On the fringes of this picture are vast meadows and wooded areas with an incredible variety of animals, birds, insects and reptiles. The vast white expanse is inhospitable, 120 kilometers long and 72 wide; we sometimes see an isolated wildebeest or flocks of Oryx cross it or simply hold on as hypnotises by this place. However, during the rainy season, it’s a whole different show: the accumulated water transforms this drained area into a vast basin rich in seaweed, a paradise attracting thousands of birds. The pinkish mist that seems to move slowly over the water is in fact a cloud of flamingos, for whom this place is a very favorable terrain. Etosha has a dozen natural and artificial bodies of water. During dry periods, take a position at one of the many water points to observe wildlife. And attend the parade of a real Noah’s Ark come to quench their thirst. take a position at one of the many water points to observe wildlife. And attend the parade of a real Noah’s Ark come to quench their thirst. take a position at one of the many water points to observe wildlife. And attend the parade of a real Noah’s Ark come to quench their thirst.

Rundu – 2 nights (Hakusembe River Lodge Gondwana Namibia Collection)

Meandering through the spectacular Caprivi Strip in northwest Namibia, the Kwando River rises from the central Angolan highlands forming the boundary between Namibia, Zambia and Angola. The area surrounding the Kwando River is known for its protected game reserves, national parks and wildlife sanctuaries. It offers excellent game viewing with the perennial waters of the river attracting plentiful wildlife including wide herds of elephant, hippos, crocodiles, red lechwe, turtles, zebra, impala, spotted-necked otters and over 400 species of bird. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing stay at one of the many lodges set on the banks of the river and soak up the spectacular views of Africa. Popular activities include: game viewing, bird watching, fishing, and camping.

Chobe National Park – 2 nights (Elephant Valley Lodge)

The Chobe National Park alone presents all types of landscapes in Botswana: flood plains, sandy depressions, grasslands and Kalahari desert. The park stretches over 1.1 million hectares and is named after the Chobe River, known by other names upstream and forming an irregular border between Botswana and the Caprivi Strip region in Namibia. Flowing from west to east, the river has its source in Angola where it bears the name of Cuando. It then becomes Linyanti, Itenge and finally the Chobe, in turn tributary of the Zambezi. Bordered with papyrus, the waters of Linyanti abound with bream and tiger fish; they therefore suggest beautiful days of fishing. The Chobe region offers a wide variety of habitats to herds of elephants, buffaloes and zebras. Rich in game, the park is an excellent pantry for predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and wild dog. This is of course the shoreline of the Chobe which is the most densely populated by wildlife, and this especially by the elephants that make the world reputation of the park. An estimated 73,000 Chobe herds, with herds up to 500 head.

Situated just north of Durban along South Africa’s scenic coast, Kosi Bay is only two kilometers from the Mozambique border. It encompasses a pristine lake system consisting of a series of lakes that form part of the Wetland Park Islands and eventually drain through a sandy estuary into the Indian Ocean. Beachgoers can enjoy a calm, quiet beach and a river mouth with exceptionally clear water to an abundance of fish species. Other duikers, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, bull sharks, loggerheads and leatherbacks, turtles – which have their eggs on the beach – and various bird life. An interesting fact about Kosi Bay is that it is home to the Kosi Palm, which has the largest leaf of any plant in the floral kingdom.

Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park – 3 nights (Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge)

These reserves, created in 1897, are now grouped into one park and are among the most interesting in South Africa. They are not adjacent, but connected by a “corridor” that allows animals to move freely from one to the other. The Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve occupies the hills of the coastal plain. This reserve covers 96,453 ha on both sides of the Hluhluwe valley, and is characterized by the diversity of its landscapes. In addition to 85 mammal species including elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, and buffalo, the reserve is the refuge of the nyala. This 96,000 ha park is the oldest and one of the largest in South Africa. Less touristy than Kruger Park, it is the meeting of two reserves: Hluhluwe and Umfolozi names of the two rivers that cross it. Proclaimed in the 1950s for the conservation of the rhinoceros to save its extinction, the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park now houses nearly 90% of the world’s population of rhinoceros. The photo safari is facilitated by the quality of the trails through the savannah that cross pretty green landscapes.
