While we are busy launching our new division, XO Adventure, it seems obvious to honor Men this month.

Not that women are not “adventurous” and that we restrict them to the “spa & shopping” category, but this new venture will be of more interest to our gentlemen clientele.

To pilot XO Adventure, Will Jansen and Paul-Henri Barbier, loaded with testosterone, amongst other things, teamed-up to combine their experiences in organizing expeditions ever more different. A mobile Safari in the Okavango Delta, a 4x4 driving experience in the Namib Desert, a horse riding safari in the KwaZulu Natal, canoeing in Zambia, a fishing party in Mozambique, a rally on the tracks of the Kaokoland and a night under the stars of the Bushmen land, all the occasions will be good enough to get you off the beaten track.

But Adventure does not mean, at least not to us, loose organization and middling service. If Adventure refers to exciting experiences and unknown discovery, we will take you off road, but with fine tuned organization that takes perfect care of logistics. Without removing the thrill of the unpredicted, your expedition will allow you the pleasure of discovering the unknown.

You arrive from Johannesburg at Livingstone where you are a guest at the 5 star luxury Royal Livingston Hotel on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls.  Discover the magnificent surroundings and select the Bungy jumping, paragliding or micro light activities to intensify your sensations.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast on the beautiful veranda of the hotel you will take the amazing ‘Flight of Angels’ over the Victoria Falls!  Enjoy a light picnic lunch before you are transferred by road to Chirundu from where your two day canoeing trip on the Zambezi will start the next day.

On day one of your canoe trip experienced guides will provide you with all the necessary training.  A full back-up team will set up the camps well ahead of you for the different night spots. These will be rustic tented camps on the banks of the river.  Gliding along the river for approximately 8 hours per day is undoubtedly the best way to get up close to the animals on the river banks.  You are completely off the beaten track, whilst absorbing the peace and tranquility of the Zambezi river. You will see Hippos, crocodiles, lions, wild dogs, leopard, hyenas, elephant, buffalo, water-buck and many other antelope.

Getting back on the water early in the morning you will be amazed by the awesome variety of birds on the way. After stopping for breakfast on the river banks you continue down the river until you arrive at your next camp site in the late afternoon in time for tea and cake.  Before long it is time for the African tradition of a sundowner drink.  After a dinner prepared over an open fire you retire to en-suite tents with a bucket shower under the African stars.

Arriving at Mana Pools you will have the distinct impression of having discovered the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!  It is the last true wilderness south of the Zambezi and perhaps the wildest and most photogenic of all nature reserves! You will check into the Kanga Bush Camp just in time for the evening fires to be lit.  A World Heritage site, explore the inland river beds, pans and open plains of Mana Pools on a 4x4 day safari. The Kanga Bush Camp is a 12 bedded tented camp with en-suite bathroom and out-door showers over-looking the water hole. The main area of the camp is on decking overlooking the pan.

Your early morning walking safari accompanied by a professional armed guide starts just after dawn after a healthy breakfast enjoyed at the Camp. The opportunity to leave your vehicle and track game on foot is a rare and exhilarating experience and upon your return to the camp it is time to relax in the lounge area under the shade of large trees overlooking the splash pool and pan. Only you and the animals of Africa! But then it is time to go to the Mana Pools Airstrip where you are getting your chartered flight back home.

A multi task phone: iPhone 4 of course. More than just for its phoning capabilities, the IPhone 4 comes with a 5-Megapixel Camera with Flash, a GPS application, and your favorite music to listen to in a busy airport. The iPhone version 4 is without any question impressive and once again, revolutionary.
